Okay who is actually pissed off about Tiger Woods cheating on his wife?  It was stupid, but is anybody that furious or even surprised that an athlete cheated on his wife?  

So why is such a big deal being made about who Tiger is as a person? I understand the need to report the story, considering it concerns the best golfer in the world right now, but there's no reason that Tiger Woods or any athlete should be judged on their personal lives.

Did Tiger screw up big-time by cheating on his wife? Yes, but I'm sure if we looked at the lives of the majority of professional athletes they are littered with infidelity and I could care less.  Athletes should only be role models in the sense that we want to emulate their athletic achievements not necessarily who they are as people, because most never claim to be great at anything outside of their particular profession.

Magic Johnson cheated on his wife and was forced into early retirement when he became HIV positive, yet today everybody still remembers him for being the greatest point guard of all-time.  Michael Jordan's life is filled with stories of excessive gambling and extra-marital affairs, but nobody cares because he's the greatest basketball player of all-time.  Kobe Bryant is perhaps the most popular player in the NBA right now a little more than 5 years removed from a sexual assault trial.

Most sports fans I've talked to really don't care about Tiger's infidelities we just want to be watching the next time he's playing on the last day of a major looking to get closer to the all-time record.
