Butler v. Duke - Like I Care

Daddy would you like some sausage...daddy would you like some sauuusaaages.

Daddy would you like some sausage...daddy would you like some sauuusaaages.

Not gonna lie, I am pretty disappointed that I have to watch Butler play Duke in the National Championship game tomorrow.  I am not enamored with Butler and how captivating their Cinderella story is, I hope they lose by thirty and the game is a complete snooze.  I don't care about some school from Nowheresville, Indiana.  I guess they deserve to be there but as a casual college hoops fan I want to see Duke play Kentucky or North Carolina or any other big time school, I want to see the spectacle and Butler just doesn't get my juices flowing.  I am glad their coach looks like a guy who just got hair down there and that he used to work for Eli Lilly, but that story line holds my attention for a nano second.  I want to see the best players in the country go after it on the biggest stage.  I want to see the two best players in the country going head to head.  I want this game to decide which players are going one/two in the draft.  I dont want to see some Adam Morrison clone named Gordon, who names their kid Gordon in this day in age anyway?  I thought the name Gordon had been eradicated from the population - I thought Gordon was like the measles of American names.  All in all I wish Butler good luck but I hope everyone realizes they are a flash in the pan and that next year we get back to a sense of normalcy with North Carolina, Duke, Kansas and Kentucky in the Final Four.

Butler - Duke could be a "history" game

I can understand the desire to see a couple heavyweights slug it out for the national championship, but I’ll tune in for the underdog angle, and the fact that Butler have a huge winning streak on the go. I’m as casual as you can get for college b-ball, as I really only watch the Tourney each year.

The example I would give would be Boise State vs Oklahoma in college football a few years ago. It didn’t even decide the title, but it was a VERY entertaining game, and partly because Boise wasn’t supposed to have a shot against a team like the Sooners.

I want Bulter to beat the Holy Hell out of Duke

and yes they may just have to do that while playng 8 on 5. Just look at Dook’s game against my Mountaineers last night, Da’Sean Butler tears his ACL sprains his MCL and get two bone bruises and get called for a Charge all in one play. Of course the quote of the nigh went to Huggs when he went out to console Da, he turns to the Ref and says"They don’t foul do they John, he’s an All-American player laying on the ground and they didn’t foul"

Players who should be in the Hall of Fame: Pat TIllman, Dwight White, Donnie Shell, L.C. Greenwood, Ray Guy, Steve Tasker, Greg Llyod, Andy Russel, Cris Carter, Kevin Greene and Jerry Kramer

Gotta disagree here...

As a true casual fan, I think the underdog story with Butler has been fantastic, and I’ve been more interested in this year’s tournament than I have been in March Madness in years.

I hate Duke

so therefore I care. Seriously, they got the easiest path to the Final 4 which was a reward for being the shittiest one seed out of them all this year. They did play incredibly well against West Virginia so you can’t take that away from them, but if there is a God Duke will not win.
