Happy Griffey Day!
As Alex Rodriguez looks for his 600th home run, it's been frequently pointed out that, well, most people don't care. His personal antics as well as his steroid use have detracted from what otherwise has been a legendary on-field career.
It makes you long for the days of Ken Griffey Jr.'s prime, who retired earlier this season. With 630 career long-balls, Griffey's remarkable career is matched only by the great character he exhibited. He inspired many of today's young stars, had legions of fans, and yes, created quite the fashion trend - the backwards hat.
Which is why today, we are honoring Griffey's career by asking everyone to turn their around Griffey-style and help aim for a Guinness world record for the most backwards hats worn in one day.
All you need to do is turn your hat backwards, snap a picture and then share it with the world. You can upload it to our Flickr, or send your photos to SoLongKid@ProjectFranchise.org and we'll do the work for you.
We'll take our favorite submissions and put them to vote. All the finalists will be helped to some fun Ken Griffey memorabilia, with the winner taking home a "So Long Kid" t-shirt from Fan-Fits.com.

![While our accomplishment may not be quite so intelligent, we are well on our way to getting our hands on a Guinness World Record in the category of Fan Appreciation. We have officially applied with the good people at GWR to set the record for "Most People Wearing Backwards Hats In One Day" - which we hope to set on Jun 24th when we (and a few thousand of our closest friends from around SBN) honor the career of Ken Griffey Jr by wearing a backward pro-hat for the day. To join in, stay tuned to FOF for more details or drop us an email - team[at]projectfranchise[dot]org](http://cdn2.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/123493/guinnesscert_small.jpg)
